From Refugee to Success

Shabnum, an Afghan refugee, discovered a new beginning at the vocational training centre established by the Rural Development Foundation in Barakahu, Islamabad. Despite fleeing her homeland just a year prior, Shabnum brought with her seven years of experience in media from Afghanistan. Eager to rebuild her life, she eagerly embraced the opportunity to learn valuable skills such as cutting, stitching, and crochet work at the centre.

Grateful for the supportive environment fostered by the foundation, Shabnum thrived amidst the peaceful atmosphere of the centre. She found solace in the camaraderie of her classmates, describing them as friendly and cooperative individuals. Importantly, Shabnum emphasized the absence of bullying and racism, highlighting the inclusive nature of the centre that allowed her to focus on her education and personal growth.

Today, Shabnum stands as a shining example of resilience and determination. Through hard work and dedication, she transformed her life, turning adversity into opportunity. Her success serves as a beacon of hope, inspiring others to believe in the power of education and community support to overcome challenges and achieve their dreams.
